Der CEO Cladio Domenicali von Ducati hat vor ein paar Tagen das MotoGP Team 2018 vorgestellt. Grundsätzlich ist fast alles beim alten. Auch in diesem Jahr pilotieren Jorge Lorenzo und Andrea Dovizioso die in Details überarbeitet Desmosedici GP, die jedoch noch nicht in der finalen Version auf ihren Rädern steht.

Zu den Änderungen gehört die immer noch futuristische Verkleidungsnase und die Flügel an den Seiten. Die Einspritzung soll eine indirekte elektronische mit vier Drosselklappenkörpern und Injektoren vor und hinter den Drosselklappen, sein. Das neue EVO 2 TCF-System (Throttle Control & Feedback) kontrolliert die elektronische Gassteuerung. Die desmodromische Ventilsteuerung verfügt über ein Aluminiumchassis was zu dem trockenen Gewicht der Ducati auf 157kg drückt und die Leistung auf über 250PS hebt. Die Piloten sollen so über 350km/h fahren können.
